I closed my store on another very popular auction site where I had been selling for more than 10 years with over 1400 positive feedback comments. The reason? Continuously increasing and changing fees (final value fees are close to 10% - there is a fee on shipping charges - in addition to PayPal charges.....there doesn't seem to be an end to their fees). I am thrilled to have found eBid where I am able to offer lower prices to shoppers due to considerably fewer charges to the seller.
Every transaction is important. I will make every effort to give buyers the best service possible, describe items to the best of my ability (questions are always welcome as communication is usually a great way to avoid potential problems) , respond to questions (for example, regarding payment methods, discounted shipping) in a timely manner and wrap packages so items get to buyers safely.
Please keep in mind that feedback is a very important part of the transaction. I am always concerned about the mail reaching its destination in perfect condition. Your feedback will let me know the package arrived safely and at that time, feedback will be left for buyer.
Crafting has always been a part of my life and spent several years doing craft shows until it became too exhausting for one person. I am downsizing my endless crafting stash in addition to the contents of an inherited house full of my parents belongings. My Mother loved to shop! Four of my five eBid stores are filled with these items.
The fifth store is my "creative fun" thing - hand knitted sweater vests for pampered pets, some with matching scarves for owners. I haven't done any knitting in 40 years and can now appreciate that it is one of those portable crafts. The pet sweater vest is my original design. Many are one of a kind and some can be made to order (dependant on yarn availability) according to specific pet measurements. I have recently added my second original design - the pet sweater vest with back extension.
- PLEASE NOTE Shipping discount changes on multiple auctions. Shipping will be actual postal costs (calculated by weight and distance) plus $.50 per additional item up to $2.00. No charge forenvelopes, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, gasoline, etc. Occasionally I cannot determine exact weight until everything is packaged (and my scale always seems to differ from the post office's) refund will be issued (if applicable) after package has been mailed.
- Tracking/shipping confirmation and/or insurance available upon request for additional cost to buyer - and ALWAYS recommended for breakable items. Tracking may be provided it noted in listing.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- How are shipping charges calculated? Since I do not own post office equipment, I do my best to establish the weight of an item or investigate what other seller are charging under similar circumstances. In addition to the postage on the box or envelope, also considered is the cost of packaging supplies and the expense of delivering the package to the post office. There is also time involved in preparing the listing; photos, measurements, writing details about the item, etc.
- Why bother with feedback? Feedback is a vital part of online buying as it gives validity to the seller and confidence to other buyers. Legitimate sellers will do what is necessary to provide the best service to their buyers and deserve the advertisement of positive feedback much like name-brand products.
- What about non-paying buyers? A “non-paying” buyer really isn’t a buyer. I would prefer that a potential buyer have:
the desire to complete the transaction, available funds in their PayPal, Google account or mail payment via USPS money order (no bank money orders please) and ask questions prior to bidding so they do not become a non-payer. This works perfectly if everyone does their part. All non-payers are placed on a “black ball” list and negative feedback” will be left.
