Found a case of excellent sheet music at an auction this week.  All from same estate and all in pretty darn good condition for being from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s and 1950s.  Beautiful photographs and graphics too.  Lots of color and design; silly to say sheet music is pretty but the photographs are so great on these!!. 

What to do with this "stuff"?  Well, I have a small half bath that I have decorated with early 1900 to 1930s sheet music.  I used inexpensive frames you can find at Joanne or Michaels just a sheet of glass, a board and clips so frames in about 30 seconds.   I do have a few matted and  framed, one is Fanny Brice, and that is gorgeous; you can go less expensive, or more expensive with framing.

This is the 1955  song written by Dale Evans "the Bible tells me so" with her and husband Roy Rogers on the cover.  I think they both sang it. Excellent

Colors: electric blue/purple, grey, and creamy white.

Design: neat and simple, Roy and Dale on the song cover.  He has that cool 1940s big curvy cowboy hat and fancy shirt, she has a strange little tiny cowgirl hat she always worn, that blends into her flipped up hair.  She has a matching shirt with a rose at the neck. 

I was just listening to PBS a few weeks ago, a radio show spotlighting early country cowboy music and Roy's name came up.  He formed a group and just before they were set to perform they gave their name as "THE PIONEERS" but the DJ laughed, said they looked way too young and dubbed them THE Sons of the Pioneers.  The name of the group stuck.  A classic cowboy band was born.

Condition: good  for its age.  Good spine but a tear on bottom edge that is near corner and goes thru both covers (1" long).  Some scuffing and marks on cover, slight folding of corners, wear and tears to edges, and discoloration of page papers too.  But great for framing, a mat will cover that small tear just fine.
