Found a box of gorgeous doilies and crochet items at an auction last week. Quite a mix of goodies for your viewing pleasure.

Another disappearing craft on this runner. Creating eyelets with open centers, each trimmed with thick satin stitched embroidery. On this beautiful runner the eyelets are shaped into baskets, daisies, and vines with leaves. Very well done.

This is decorated on both short ends with eyelet baskets and daisies. Can be used as table runner, dresser scarf, in a hutch, on a buffet, or even to decorate a small round table as a topper. This is why people love dresser scarves/runners.

Design: rectangle of soft white linen with masses of eyelets forming two baskets, one on each short end. These are surrounded wiht cutout/stitched daisies, and three leaf clusters with a bit of vine on each. Eyelets along all edges, and long vines along long sides. Smaller scallopes on all four sides (under 1" wide). All edges are satin stitched by hand. Lots of work end into this one.

Measurements: 16x42" nice big size

Color: soft white

age: Probably between 1930s and 1950s.

Condition: very good for its age. No rips, tears, or damage. Looks unused. Tiny bit of smudging here and there, probably from storage. Needs just a little enzyme/biological soak to get it sparkling. This has been stored a long time!

Pretty gift for someone who loves linen with eyelets and embroidery, or give it to yourself!
