Vintage 1940s 1950s Crochet Doily: 20" Irish Crochet Roses on netted white doily

Won a huge box of doilies at a recent auction, and wow are there the wonderful bright colors here. Also have a few of the hard to find ruffled doilies that were so popular in the 1940s and 1950s.

This is a beautiful larger crochet doily, 20" with yellow and green flowers, 3" around border. Very long bridges so is airy and unusual.

Irish crochet is a favorite of mine. It creates 3D flowers like these. Every petal stand up and out and the whole flower is thick and substantial.

Cotton thread is heavy so this is a nice substantial doily.

Design: border is made up of a bright yellow flower shape surrounded by bright green. A real standout.

Condition: very good for its age (60 to 70+ years old). It has been stored a long time and has some smudging. Center is smudged (or has coffee stain). A soak in an enzyme cleaner such as Biz or Oxyclean will make this sparkle. I would not be surprised that when this is blocked, it exceeds 25". No rips, tears or broken bridges.

Beautiful colors on this doily if you love green and yellow this is the doily for you.
