 Found some fabulous vintage crochet and knitting  books on Sunday at a huge textile auction held in an artist's loft.   Three cases of them so I may be listing these for quite a while.

Beautiful 1946 soft cover booklet  with 58 pages and packed with baby and toddler knitting patterns for using Beehive wool yarn, which is still being made today (Jo-ann's and Michael's sells it but you can substitute of course) I think.  Any light weight sport or baby yarns in acrylics or wool can be substituted if you carefully knit a swatch first.

This fat booklet is packed with patterns for babies, tots and slightly older kids (see photos).  To give you some idea I will give you a little summary on just a small portion of the pages:

shawl, bed jacket and baby kimono in ripple stitch plus loopy doll

6 pc set of sacque, bonnet, booties, and mittens and kimono and onesie

posey set - hat, bonnet, shoes, booties, sweater/jumper, soaker, shirt w/ lace edge and blanket in lace pattern

creeper (all in one suit w/ no legs), soakers (1940s version of plastic pants), dress, two sweaters/jumpers and booties in flower knit lace pattern

Sweater/jumper with attached mittens, blanket with bunny decoration AND a lace shawl in Fan and Feather design (my favorite)

sandbox knits: overalls for boys and a shirtless sunsuit for boys too

dress w/ bands of lace in scallop pattern, 1940s style puff sleeves and defined waist

boy's one piece creeper with long sleeves and short legs

and the scottie knitted toy  (you bet I am going to get a copy of this before I mail the book out)

and lots more.  Everything to need to find that perfect item for baby, hats, mittens, etc etc etc  all with a 1940s look that is so vintage and sweet (don't make fun, we babyboomers dressed like this as kids)

Condition:  very good for its age.  Scuffing and smudging on covers and wear and folds along spine.  Some curling of corners (cover is thin paper), but black and white photos are just the cutest you have every seen!  A few pencil marks, very slight in some of the patterns. Spine has lower edge splits but staples are holding nicely.  All 58 pages are here.  Get your knitting needles ready for this one it is gorgeous despite showing wear!!

Beautiful  soft cover book that is a great reference.   I got a bargain on these books (bought three big cases of vintage crochet and knitting books) so am passing the savings on to you.  This is one of the best of the lot.  So sweet and just packed with patterns.
