Auction Description
An original, old sepia toned photograph of one of America's finest first ladies, Eleanor Roosevelt. The scene captured here is from the 1940s or perhaps just a bit prior and is a crowded one with a number of people following our first lady out the front door of a Victorian home. She is seen glancing down while clasping the firm hand of one of her Secret Service agents before taking her next step. All follow, the gentlemen with hats in hand including her son, Elliott, who smiles broadly into the camera at her left in the foreground.

While I am unsure, I suspect this photograph may be a unique, one-of-a-kind copy. We purchased it some years ago at an estate sale and have enjoyed it for a good, long time. It measures a generous 22 inches wide by 20 inches tall whereas the image portion measures 15 by 13 inches. The frame is a modest one and is fitted with a simple cardboard covering on the reverse side. Condition is good for this scarce image with a few very tiny, half-moon crinkles seen only from an angle under the glass. They are faint and just barely visible.

Domestic shipping costs shown include insurance. International shipping is subject to customs regulations and rates vary according to destination, so please contact us for your specific terms if you are outside the U.S.

To better manage our costs, we prefer your U.S. dollar bank check or U.S. postal money order as method of payment. We are also pleased to accept credit or debit card payments via Google Checkout or PayPal. Kindly note that shipping for card transactions is necessarily restricted to your shipping address as furnished to us by them. Thank you!
