Botanical Name: Beta vulgaris.
Stock Reference Number: 357-20.
Description: Known in the Mediterranean since ancient times. Produces rich, dark green leaves with strong white stems. Excellent flavour. Rich in vitamins. Sow Spring, Summer and Autumn. All year in tropics. Dampen seeds and place on tissue paper for 1-2 hours prior to sowing. Sow 12mm deep in desired position and space 30cm apart. Cover and firm down. Keep moist. Likes soil pH above 6.0. Prefers sunny position in a rich, welldrained soil. Harvest outside leaves often for constant crop.
