MGM picture, with lyrics by Raymond Klages
IMPORTANT: Second item ALWAYS ships free, so why not buy two??? OR MORE, each one is only 50 cents postage!!!This offer for US buyers only, but International get great deal too, you only pay actual cost of postage, NO packing or handling charges ever (not pretty wrapping, but sturdy and it gets it to you safely)!!!
Found a case of excellent sheet music at an auction this week. All from same estate and all in pretty darn good condition for being from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Beautiful photographs and graphics too. Lots of color and design; silly to say sheet music is pretty but the photographs are so great on these!!.
What to do with this "stuff"? Well, I have a small half bath that I have decorated with early 1900 to 1930s sheet music. I used inexpensive frames you can find at Joanne or Michaels just a sheet of glass, a board and clips so frames in about 30 seconds. I do have a few matted and framed, one is Fanny Brice, and that is gorgeous; you can go less expensive, or more expensive with framing.
The 1929 movie Marianne, song "Just you, just me". Stars Marion Davies. I think, Ms. Davis was the girlfriend of newspaper superstar owner Randolph Hearst, and official hostess at Hearst's famous castle in California during the 1920s and 1930s? While some felt she was over-rated as an actress, many others felt she was talented but overshadowed by her relationship with Hearst which lasted many years.
Colors: deep royal blue, pink, red, olive green, and creamy white.
Design: excellent cover with Ms. Davies in pretty pink dress, interacting with solder (name unknown), with funny drawings of funny little 1920s style solders along in a rainbow on side.
Five numbered pages (covers and insert).
Published by Robbins Music Corp, NY.
Special features: Bright and beautiful 1920s graphics; the cartoon solders are just sooo cute.
Condition: good for its age. 2" split on spine, scuffing on cover, and wear to edges. Upper corners have lots of smudges and lower corners have a few very light stains (hard to see). Slight folding of other corners and discoloration of page papers as what comes with being stored for many years.
Second item ships free (US buyers), and all additional sheet music is only 50 cents each for shipping!
This will be plastic bagged, wrapped in cardboard and put into a sturdy envelope so that it arrives safely.
International buyers, Paypal only please (if a problem, let me know and we can work something out - I am not real familiar with international money orders, etc, but will consider payment by them if US banks take them readily).
