 I found these little beauties at an estate auction.  Like a rainbow of color that you can't find today,  Each ball is full, or nearly full so you are getting a beautiful array of crochet cotton in various weights for your crochet, tatting, or knitting pleasure.  I have used this type of thinner thread to knit beaded jewelry and knit beaded purses and it works beautifully.

Like anything else, crochet threads have changed thru the years. Most of that change is that colors are added or subtracted due to public request.  In the 1950s these hotter colors were popular along with colors we never see today, hot pinks, various purples/grapes/lilac, the aqua, greens other than mint or Christmas, and many colors of cream and ecru. 

o these various colored threads are a nice little glimpse into the 1940s and 1950s.  Lots of colors and brands, most of the balls are full or almost full, so are a great value too!

Seven crochet cotton threads include:

1.  J & P  Coats knit-cro-sheen: 175 yards, varigated purple color, half a ball, maybe 80 yards

2. J & P Coats knit-cro-sheen, HOT pin/coral (shines in the dark I bet it is soo bright), 175 yds, 1/2 of a ball, no # on ball, thicker than the #30, so maybe this is #20? 

3.  Clark's O.N.T., 175 yds but only 1/4 of the  ball, medium shell pink (#20? is marked "bedspread")

4. . J & P Coats knit-cro-sheen,200 yards, #30 size, medium shell pink,  1/2 of  ball left, maybe 80-100 yards

5.  Clark's Big Ball, 300 yrds, #30?, medium Lilac (lighter than pictured, less grape than shown), almost full ball.

6. Clark's Big Ball, 250 yards, light lilac (less grape than pictured), about 1/3 of ball left.

7. Star pearl cotton, #5, 50 yards, coral color, about 1/2 left.   

Excellent mix.  Impossible to find these colors today. 

Condition: very very good for being 70+ years old.  This is clean, not dusty, and has no funny smells.  Beautiful and hard to find colors and brands.

Great way to build your stash of gorgeous crochet threads.
