I went to a wonderful estate auction a few weeks ago and found a big deep box of old sheet music.  Some real gems in this lot.  Mostly 1920s and 1930s which was a wonderful era for sheet music.  Photos or artwork are wonderful, these are perfect for framing and giving as gifts. I have a small half bath that has the wall covered with Eddie Canter, Al Jolson, and the various vaudville follies.  

Paramount releases the movie "The First Kiss" in 1928 with its new stars Gary Cooper and Fay Wray.  It was actually a silent film with some talkie parts to it and was fairly successful.  This sheet music from Waterson, Berlin and Snyder Co has a 1928 copyright.  Music by J. Russel Robinson, Lyics by Al Dubin.   

Chorus: Do you remember the first kiss of love, do you still feel the thrill in your soul?  I found the gateway to heaven aboe in that first little kiss that I stole"

Later this was used in several other movies including Shrek which endears it to a whole new generation of music lovers and romantics.

Cover is muted deep pinks, cream and black with large picture of a very young Gary Cooper and beautiful Fay Wray.  Some side sillouette pictures with flowers etc.

Music is double fold (front and back cover) with additional sheet inside. Six sides. 

Advertising on back cover is for song "Memories of France" by Al Dubin.  Inside cover is drawing of flapper and ad for the song "The Girl who broke my heart" also by Dubin. 

Music is for the piano.

Condition:  Very good for its age.  Wow, where has this one been?  Nice and flat pages.  All pages here.  Some smudging and wear to cover and spine. Spine split top and bottom about 1/2" each.  Corners good. Edges have some wear of course, but only one small tear on cover, about 1/2" near the drawing of the lovers.  Discolored pages of course, it is more than 80 years old! 

Beautiful photo, graphics and coloring on this pretty pretty sheet music.  Gary and Fay look gorgeous (didn't we all at about age 20?).
