I went to a wonderful estate auction a few weeks ago and found a big deep box of old sheet music.  Some real gems in this lot.  Mostly 1920s and 1930s which was a wonderful era for sheet music.  Photos or artwork are wonderful, these are perfect for framing and giving as gifts. I have a small half bath that has the wall covered with Eddie Canter, Al Jolson, and the various vaudville follies.  

Warner Brothers released the movie "Angel in Disguise" in 1940 with Ann Sheridan and Jeffrey Lynn.  Also starrred Humphrey Bogart (not pictured on music), and comedian Zasu Pitts.  Screen play by Michael Fessier and Lawrence Kimble. Author was poet Joyce Kilmer, author of All this and Heaven too (he was a solder in WWI)

Jeffrey Lynn had an interesting history.  He was born in 1909 and died in 1995, and was almost Ashley WIlkes in Gone with the Wind.  At the last minute the director substituted Leslie Howard as he had more acting experience.  Did not hurt Lynn's feelings, he went on to appear in Butterfield 8, Tony Rome, various tv shows and Broadway.  Last appearence was on Murder she wrote in 1987. 

This was a 1940 pop hit for Warner Brothers and was run with Looney Tunes shorts. 

Chorus: "You're just an angel in disguise, who wandered down from up above. You're just a heavenly surprise, who came to earth for me to love"

Cover is muted deep red, with cream, bright gold  and black with large picture of  Lynn and Sheridan in one corner.  Movie film running opposite them with mirror images of Sheridan dancing in evening gown.  We don't get a Bogie photo, shucks, he must have had a minor role in this one.

Music is double fold (front and back cover) with additional sheet inside. Six sides.  All pages are here and useable, readable (see condition report below)

Advertising on back cover is for Top values in folios of music; Eddy Duchin, and other Warner Brothers hits. No other adverts. 

Music is for the piano, voice, and with guitar chords.

Condition:  good for its age with just slight damage and it is all here.  Split to spine, 1/2" on bottom, wear to spine,  wear and wear  to edges of pages but flat and still very nice..     Pages yellowed of course.  Corners slightly worn.  Smudging on front and back cover but no stains.
