I found a great batch of advertising/recipe items at the estate sale of an area antiques dealer. He collected a little of everything and these little brochures/booklets are wonderful.
A great little advertising booklet from General Mills using Jell-o called Dessert Magic from 1944! Packed with recipes for everyone's favorite dessert. Includes ham and chicken molds, creamy molds, jellied veggies and more. This is wild food 1940s style.
Excellent early jell-o cookbook from WWII era. Today we seldom see jellied molds with chicken, fish and ham but that was a sensible choice during the war years with rationing. Jell-o probably helped a great deal with rationing of sugar, butter, milk, etc. Helped to stretch those coupons.
Condition: very good for its age, 60+ years. Some page discoloration, but no writing. Staples still holding tight, but some wear to spine and edges of cover. Some smudging on cover and a tiny 1/2 tear on back cover.
Excellent booklet to add to your collection. The graphics in these older books are gorgeous.
