Nice leather bound copy of 'The History of Henry Esmond, Esq. A Colonel in the Service of her Majesty Queen Anne'. Written by Esmond, edited by Thackeray, and published by Thomas Nelson and Sons in 1904. It has a nice frontispiece illustration and the top of the pages are gilt edged. There is an owner's name written on the back of the frontispiece dated 1907. Slight foxing to page ends and inner tissue paper but the text itself is nice and clean. Bound in green leather with gilt lettering to spine. The spine is wearing away at the top and bottom and there is a mark left by a sticky label on the back board. Length 15.5cms, width 10.5cms, 556 pages.
