Common Name: DRAGON FRUIT - PEARL.
Botanical Name: Hylocereus undatus.
Stock Reference Number: 470-60.
Description: Originates from Southern Mexico to Costa Rica. A round fruit with prominent scales. Thin rind encloses sweet flavoured white pulp, and small black seeds. Eaten chilled or used to flavour drinks and pastries. Unopened flower buds are cooked and eaten as vegetables. A vining, terrestrial or epiphytic cactus, with stems to 6 metres in mature plants. Sow Spring - Summer in tree tubes. Cover seed lightly and keep moist. Transplant to desired position when 1/2 metre tall. Prefers sunny position and protection from frosts until established.
