What a surprise, a 1949 hardcover book with dust jacket

I found a great batch of doll collecting books at the estate auction this week.  Looks like all THREE cases are reference books from a Racine Wisconsin Doll Shop.  Excellent reference, these cover everything from collecting French fashion dolls to fixing dolls (VCR).  If you collect, repair, or sell dolls, these are the books for you.  I will price them well below their original value.  Most are in excellent shape, a few have issues which I will let you know about in detail. 

Since all the latest prices are on line, you still can use these as reference and ID as they are all very detailed and extensive.

This is a really great hardcover book with dustjacket called The Complete Book of Doll Making and Collecting by Catherine Christopher. 

Lots of  black white  photographs.  Lots of information on doll collections from various museums, and doll house collections. Covers collecting older dolls and making new ones from corn husks, dried apples/pears, pingpong balls, stuffed cloth, and casting heads from various materials. Extensie coverage of making clothing that is authentic to the period, be it Elizabethian, Victorian, etc.

Gorgeous book, hardcover with dust jacket, with pp.288. Measures 6  x 9".

Condition:   very very good for its age.  Book has slight wear to spine and edges, corners have just slight bumping. No writing, rips or tears.  No marks in book except for inked stamp from doll store. But the dustjacket is damaged mostly along top back edge.  Because of its age, the pages have mellowed to an ivory color.  Neat to find this one with a dust jacket.

A classic that has been reprinted many times (thru 1970s I think).  Hard to find instructions for corn husk dolls and dried fruit dolls too.

NOTE ON SHIPPING:  US, Media mail is a good way to ship these glossy books which tend to be a bit heavy.  A faster alternative would be a priority flat rate box, which would hold quite a few of these little beauties.  INTERNATIONAL: these are heavy but priority flat rate boxes will hold quite a few for a shipping rate of approximately $25-30.  Since each book originally sold for that amount, if you pick up a dozen of these, you are still money ahead.  We can discuss best way to ship if you email and indicate which ones you are interested in.
