Decorative antique cast iron oil lamp sconce/bracket. This item is probably from a church or chapel. It originally held an oil lamp with blue glass fount (the broken stub of which is still fixed into the brass fitting at the end of the bracket arm). I've stripped the cast iron component of this item and coated it with wax. Wash with suitable solvent (e.g. white spirit) before applying paint. I've left the brass fitting alone as it looks a little delicate. Founts are usually fitted with 'Plaster of Paris', I believe, in which case the old stub could be dissolved out with acid. Alternatively it would be a simple matter to electrify the bracket. All items are well packed so that they arrive in the same condition that you see them in the photograph.
