The Special Voucher was issued by Command of the British Army Council
at the onset of World War II for use by British Troops. It avoided the need for large
quantities of British currency to be carried by soldiers.
As outlined on the back of the note ‘ valid only for transactions in canteens and
organisations laid down in G.R.Os.
